A new library space designed by our own students
The library has a new reading corner, and it was designed by the students who use it. What started as a complaint about uncomfortable chairs turned into a term-long design project.
Listening to the people who live in the space
Students measured the room, surveyed their classmates, drew floor plans and defended their proposals in front of a panel that included the librarian and two members of the leadership team.
The winning design traded the old rows of desks for low seating, better light and a quiet nook by the window. It has been full every afternoon since it opened.
