Independence Day Celebration 2026

Every February, the whole school works on one single project that honors our history, culture, and traditions: the Dominican Independence Day Celebration.

TCFL’s Independence Day program brings students, teachers, and families together in a school-wide cross-curricular project built around a topic of current relevance in the Dominican Republic. Through research, reflection, and critical thinking, students explore complex issues, share their perspectives, and inspire meaningful conversations.

This February 2026, our community explored Artificial Intelligence, examining how emerging technologies are shaping our lives while reflecting on the values, identity, and responsibilities that define us as Dominicans.

For a month, students collaborated across Lenguaje, Sociales, Art, and Dance to create performances that connected their classroom learning to this year’s theme. Teachers also played an important role in bringing the production to life, while our 10th grade students supported the event behind the scenes by managing props, coordinating backstage operations, and designing and creating costumes.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, collaboration, and dedication shown by our entire school community. Together, they made this year’s Independence Day celebration a meaningful learning experience that honored our country while encouraging students to think critically about the future.
