Community garden: the harvest that feeds the Tiger Café
The vegetables served at the Tiger Café this month were grown a hundred metres away, by students in the school garden.
From the garden to the tray
Elementary students planted the first beds in September. Since then they have been responsible for watering, weeding and keeping the compost going, with a rota that they organise themselves.
The kitchen team now plans part of the weekly menu around what is ready to harvest. It is a small loop, but the children can see every step of it.
